THE FACTS
Best thing about Beaumont: “You can go anywhere and see somebody you know.”
Worst thing about Beaumont: “The rednecks. Everywhere you turn, there is one.”
Favorite movie: Old School
Finest fistfight: “While in high school I borrowed a dress from a girlfriend, and she flipped out. Then she stole my purse. I went to find her. I got my purse back, and she got a black eye.”
THE TOWN
The Texas Fuel Company (later Texaco) opened its first office in Beaumont, in 1902.
THE LOWDOWN
“I’m kind of a nerd,” Cristal confesses. “I don’t have anything exciting about me.” There’s no denying her fondness for the book learnin’, as this steadfast student notes that she wants to become “a nurse anesthetist, but before I get my master’s I’m going to have to work as a nurse. I’m thinking about neonatal or pediatric ICU.” That said, a recent trip to Brazil saw Cristal whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and rappelling—“Scared the crap out of me, but I would definitely do it again”—and she counts herself a member of the Texas Bikini Team. Plus, she looks like this. Geeks just ain’t what they used to be.
