New England Patriots Playing the field: It may look like all fun and games from the stands but 20-year-old Ali (left), a junior at the University of New Hampshire who plans to be a physical therapist, has feared for her life on the field. “I nearly got run over on the sidelines last year,” she says. “And my first instinct was to run away. It was so embarrassing.” Mindy—no one calls her Melinda—has an equally mortifying tale about how New England fans are so obsessed with their cheerleaders that the team has made cheerleader trading cards. “It’s so embarrassing,” 24-year-old Mindy says in mid-blush. “My grandmother hands them out to all the baggers at my local grocery store.” Fan-tasy: At our shoot, Ali and Mindy slipped right into their roles as angel and devil. But which is which? “Yeah, she may look like an angel,” Mindy says. “And I do have a devilish side…but she’s way more devilish than I am.” Then we made ’em prove it by disrobing and, ah, gee, seems like we’re outta space!
