It's exciting when a new piece of tech shows up in the mailman's sack, but sometimes a new food item can be just as interesting. This Loaded Steakhours Burger didn't exactly come in the "mail," but it was delivered directly to me by the BK folks, so I think it's only fair to give it a review. It's their new permanent menu item and it involves a steak burger "topped with two slices of melted American cheese, A.1. Thick & Hearty sauce, crispy smoked bacon, crispy onions and [get ready for the WTF] a loaded baked potato topping all on a premium bakery bun." Yes, there are potatoes on the burger. Take the link for full review of the deliciousness and more pictures that will make your lunch seem crappier than it already is.

The good:
Much like any piece of meat with cheese and steak sauce slapped on it, it tastes, well, good. It definitely reminds me of the Rodeo Cheeseburger, only way bigger and on a better bun. As messy as it sounds, I managed to get the whole thing in me without slopping a bunch of the A.1. sauce all over my shirt. I was weary about the potato being on there, but was pleasantly surprised when it didn't make everything gross and soggy.

The bad:
I'm a little confused as to what I'm supposed to eat with it. I mean, there are already potatoes on the burger so are you supposed to eat fries with it? Couldn't they have found a way to integrate a soda into the sauce so it would be like a full value meal on a bun? I'll follow up with the BK people to get some solid answers.

The verdict:
As soon as you saw the picture you knew whether or not you want to eat one of these things. If you're a fan of fast food it's worth a try and since it's not a limited time promotion, you don't have to worry about it going the way of the McRib. Give it a try, then consider having a salad for dinner.
