4 Drivers to Make You Less Sucky at Golf

The Masters is in full effect (aren't you proud of me for not saying "swing?") which means next weekend, tons of schlubs—myself included—will be jonesing to get out on the course. But golf is hard. Luckily these high tech big dogs are making the game a little easier for the guys that putt for dough and drive for d'oh!

Fangy golf talk: Weighted power-base, SuperFast Technology for increased swing speed
This 450cc stick is engineered to help the average joe get the same kind of pop off the tee that the pros get. It's done through a combination of a big-ass head and a perfectly placed center of gravity. The titanium face also makes for incredible feel, especially on a soft ball, and one of the manliest impact sounds around.

Cobra Golf L4V F $399
Cobra pushed the absolute limit of clubhead size, coming within a blade of Kentucky blue grass of the 5"x5" limit. It's geared toward the player that swings hard and has a draw bias, so it might take some of the patheticness out of that slice you're currently rocking.

Callaway I-Mix System $500 and up
The I-Mix isn't really one driver, as much as it's a collection of about 1,600 different head and shaft combinations. They took their FT-I and FT-5 club heads and packaged them with a special tool that lets players change shafts on a whim. If you have the dough, you can buy different shafts to suit different courses or conditions. You can even get a replacement head for when you drop your old one in the parking lot and scrape the hell out of it.

Cleveland HiBORE XLS "You have a big face," doesn't usually sound like a compliment, but when it comes to drivers it's akin to saying, "Hey, nice butt." The XLS is 13% bigger than its predecessor and has "stability foils" around the perimeter so the head won't get all wonky mid-swing. They also help line up the ball with the club head. No whiffers.
